Who we are
The BestRent.md car rental service is operated by BestRent.md, Republic of Moldova. We are the controller of your data: we decide what data is collected and for what purpose.

We process data in accordance with Law No. 195/2024 on personal data protection of the Republic of Moldova and, for customers in the European Union, also with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
What data we collect and why
When you send a booking request

When you write to us through the contact form
Your name, email, phone and message, so we can reply, plus your IP address and the moment you accepted the terms, as above.
We do not ask for or store bank card details or the number of your ID card, driving licence or passport through the website. Payment is made when you pick up the car, and documents are checked then, in person.
Legal basis: steps prior to entering into the rental contract and its performance, at your request. Without this data we cannot process the booking. For the IP address and proof of acceptance, the basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and being able to prove your agreement.
Where the data goes
The website does not save forms in a database. Your request is sent to our team by email and stays in the company mailbox. We do not sell data to anyone and do not use it for advertising. It reaches only:
- Our hosting provider — its servers run the website and the mail server that sends the message.
- Google LLC (USA) — the team mailbox is hosted by Google (Gmail). Google also operates reCAPTCHA, the anti-robot check in our forms, which receives your IP address and technical browser data, and the map on the Contacts page.
- Public authorities — only when the law requires it, and only to the extent required.
Transfers to providers outside the Republic of Moldova and the European Union take place only with the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
- Requests that became rentals: 3 years after the rental ends — the period in which complaints or disputes may arise. Accounting documents are kept for as long as tax law requires.
- Requests that were not completed, and contact messages: 12 months.
- Proof of acceptance of the terms: as long as we keep the request it relates to.
Once these periods expire, the data is deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to find out what data we hold about you and receive a copy; to correct inaccurate data; to request deletion within the limits above; to object to certain processing or request its restriction; and to receive your data in a structured format.
Write to info.bestrent@gmail.com. We reply free of charge within 30 days at the latest.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may contact the National Center for Personal Data Protection (Centrul Național pentru Protecția Datelor cu Caracter Personal), 48 Serghei Lazo St., Chișinău, datepersonale.md. If you are in the European Union, you may also contact the supervisory authority of your country.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising tools. What is stored in your browser, strictly so the website can work, is described in the Cookie policy.
How we protect data
The website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only company staff who need it have access to the requests we receive. The forms are protected against automated submissions. If an incident occurs that may affect your rights, we will inform you and notify the authority within the time limits set by law.
Minors
We do not rent cars to anyone below the minimum age set out in the Terms and do not knowingly collect data about minors. If you learn that a minor has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
When we change how we process data, we update this document and the date at the top.
